A word about Permits

Permits are required for work done outside the home with the exception of landscaping. The Office Staff is more than willing to provide information regarding any permits. The Homeowner is responsible for obtaining a request for permit from the office or on our website. On Tuesday mornings between 9:30 and noon, the ACC Committee visits those houses where the owners have applied for a permit. If approved, the permits are given to the Owner or left on the front door. Please display these permits prominently.

For Town approval, please advise your contractor to obtain an additional permit from the Town of Carolina Shores.

CSPOA Facilities:

NOTE: PLEASE remember that the POA facilities are your facilities. Whether you're using the pavilion, tennis/pickleball courts, swimming pool, clubhouse and kitchen, you are responsible for picking up after yourself and disposing of your garbage/trash.

Please do not throw away trash/garbage in containers that do not have a trash bag or liner in it. Please do not leave items in the refrigerator. Book Discussion Group – Susie Riggs

The Book Discussion Group met on Friday, August 16, to discuss two books, Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus and Mrs. Lincoln’s Rival, by Jennifer Chiaverini. Lessons in Chemistry is a captivating novel that follows the journey of a brilliant female chemist challenging societal norms in the 1960s. Mrs. Lincoln’s Rival is a historical fiction novel about the public and political rivalry between Mary Todd Lincoln and Kate Chase Sprague. As always, our members shared a wide variety of thoughts and opinions about both books.

We will meet again on Friday, September 20, at 10:00 a.m. in the large room of the POA clubhouse. This will be a special meeting, as we will not only be discussing two books, but we will also be selecting the titles of the books we plan to read in the coming year. Books discussed at this meeting will be Tom Lake by Ann Patchett and The Nurse’s Secret by Amanda Skenadore.

Each member will recommend the title of one book to be included on our new reading list. Recommended books should have been published within the past ten years, be readily available at local libraries, and have been read by the person who submits the title. If you are not able to attend the meeting, please send your selection to Pat McKay.
